The lawmaker representing Njaba State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Hon Ebonine Beneth Worship Ozioma has disclosed that his capacity in his constituency helped in no small measure in giving his party, the All Progressives Congress,APC a resounding victory in the September 21 LGA elections held in the state.
According to him, ” I single-handedly delivered the chairman and 80% of the councillors in Njaba LGA. I did that by reaching out to the opposition to tell them the need to dump their ambition and join forces with me to deliver APC candidates at all levels, especially the chairmanship candidate of the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party,PDP whom I successfully convinced after he had purchased his party’s nomination forms. I told them what they stand to benefit by supporting my candidates, including the development accruable from it.
” It takes a man who has capacity to do that. It was easy for me because of the person I am and the respect my people accord me in the constituency”, he said.
Hon Ebonine who is popularly known and addressed as “Eze Ngwori ” due to his large heart and philanthropic nature, advised the victorious Njaba Local Government council helmsman to make sure that the desired dividends of democracy “gets to the grassroots” and thanked the governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for keying into the Supreme Court judgment of having the Third Tier government in place by successfully conducting the election which would have been done earlier.
He re-emphasized, ” My expectation from them is that whatever is given, should get to the grassroots because it is meant for the people and not for themselves. They shouldn’t be myopic or work to enrich themselves or fill their pockets with what belongs to the people.
” They should follow my footsteps and do as I do. With the little I have, I put up infrastructure, support community projects, support the people that are financially in need, support their businesses and families in sickness and other things, grade roads which is what the chairman can do for the people. In short, the councillors should help the chairman to work to make Njaba great again. I have confidence in the chairman, Chief Vitalis Obi( Etie Okwe Erie Okwe) and his Vice, Mrs Rhoda Ukam and all the eleven councillors of Njaba. This time around, things will be better.”
“On insecurity, God has done well to restore security in the land and we have been managing it. But with the synergy between the chairman and the councillors on one hand and the security agencies on the other hand, we are going to curb it. We have to adopt a systematic approach because all of us are brothers. I would like the councillors to work in synergy with the Chairman by sensitizing the youths and telling them to stay away from crime, avoid fighting or killing their brothers and tell them what to do to better their lives. They can key into the Eze Ngwori Foundation where we have different kinds of skills acquisition. They should be in a position to know the problem of the people and be able to solve them. Also, bringing the councillors to key into the foundation will help them achieve our goals or meet our expectations”, Eze Ngwori concluded.
